In todays episode of Spot That Scam, let’s talk about some easy things you can do to check if a website is more likely to be a Scam than Legit. This can apply to virtually ANY website, not just Ponzi Scams.
Step #1 Take a good look at the website and ask yourself:
Does it look well made?
Are there Spelling and Grammatical errors?
Does anything look out of place?
Ok, so that’s not exactly a definitive answer to “Is it Scam? ” but it can give you a good initial idea of what or who you’re dealing with.
For example…..
So , Cardiff is not in India, and….well, WTF ….
Step #2 The Devil in the Details
Does the Website have :
A Phone Number (Not just a Whatsapp number) ?
An exact address (not just London, England etc) ?
A branded email ( not Gmail etc) ?
While not having these things isn’t proof that a site is a Scam, it is an Indicator of Concern.
These 2 steps might sound like Common Sense to most of you, but if it helps one person avoid a scam its worth it, right ?
